Voorcap ("we," "our," or "us") is operated by Synapeer Technologies, Inc., a Delaware corporation. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service").
By using Voorcap, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Information we collect
We collect the following types of information:
Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email address, display name, and profile photo (optional). If you sign in through Apple or Google, we receive your name and email from those services.
Content you create: When you create a Cap, we store the photos, videos, audio recordings, and text messages you include. This content is encrypted and stored securely until the Cap is opened by the intended recipient.
Location data: Voorcap requires access to your device's GPS to function. We collect your location when you create a Cap (to pin it to coordinates) and when you attempt to open a Cap (to verify you are within the required proximity). We do not continuously track your location in the background unless you have explicitly enabled proximity notifications.
Usage data: We collect information about how you interact with the Service, including caps created, caps opened, features used, and session duration. This data is used to improve the product and is not sold to third parties.
Device information: We collect your device type, operating system version, and unique device identifiers for crash reporting and compatibility purposes.
How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Operate and maintain the Voorcap service
- Deliver Caps to the correct recipients at the correct locations and times
- Send you notifications about Caps you've received or that are nearby
- Process subscription payments through our payment provider (RevenueCat / Apple / Google)
- Analyze usage patterns to improve the product
- Respond to your support inquiries
- Comply with legal obligations
How we share your information
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We may share your information with:
- Service providers: Companies that help us operate the Service (hosting, analytics, payment processing). These providers are contractually bound to protect your data.
- Cap recipients: When you send a Cap to someone, they can see your display name and profile photo. The content inside the Cap is visible only after the seal is broken.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government request.
Data storage and security
Your data is stored on secure servers provided by our infrastructure partner (Supabase). Cap content is encrypted at rest and in transit. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information. However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access, correct, or delete your personal data
- Export your data in a portable format
- Opt out of marketing communications
- Request that we limit the processing of your data
- Withdraw consent at any time

Data retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it. Cap content that has been opened by recipients may persist in their account history.
Children's privacy
Voorcap is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete that information immediately. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy in the app and on our website, and by updating the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
